Bride commits suicide over forced marriage

A teenager bride committed suicide on the first night of her wedding over forced marriage.

Police said that 18-year-old Shehla d/o Talib Hussain, a resident of Chak 160/9-L, was forced to marry Ahmed, a resident of Chak 186/9-L. The disappointed girl committed suicide by hanging herself. The body was shifted to a hospital for autopsy.

Separately, in Hussainabad Colony of Sahiwal Muhammad Ashraf shot injured Sonia Bano, 18, after she refused to enter in illicit relations with him.

The injured girl was shifted to a hospital where her condition was said to be serious. The police arrested the culprit.

Meanwhile, the police arrested two accused involved in the murder of a student named Kashif.

Separate cases have been registered in all incidents and investigation was in progress.
