Youth guns down sister, nephew for ‘honour’

RAWALPINDI – A youth gunned down his sister and nephew over suspicion of illicit relationship between them in the village of Dhera Syedan, within the precincts of Mandra Police Station here on Tuesday.

Police apprehended the killer and recovered weapon used in the gory incident of double murder.

Those who killed included Farhat Batool, 25, wife of Saeed Shah, and Faisal Shah, 23, son of Ashiq Hussain Shah while the killer identified as Syed Zamin Hussain Shah, 22, son of Ghaus Ali Shah.

According to Station House Officer Khan Shabbir, Zamin Shah went to the house of his sister Farhat where Faisal was already sitting and having talks with her aunt. On seeing them sitting together, SHO said, Faisal lost his temperament and opened fire with a double barrel repeater killing both his sister and nephew on the spot. Later, the killer fled from the crime scene.

Khan maintained that a police party, after receiving information, rushed towards crime scene and also held the killer, besides seizing weapons from his possession. During course of investigation, the killer confessed his crime saying he had suspicion that his nephew Faisal developed illicit relation with his aunt Farhat on which he murdered them. Further investigation was on, SHO stated.

Meanwhile, police shifted the dead bodies to District Headquarter Hospital (DHQ) for postmortem after registration of murder case against the accused. Police would produce the killer before the court of law to get his physical remand today (Wednesday).
