Dubai: The human rights office of Dubai Police came to the rescue of three young Asian sisters who said they were scared they were going to be forced to marry if they boarded a flight to their home country, police said on Wednesday.
The sisters approached police at Dubai Airport and said their father was forcing them fly to their home country via Dubai airport, a senior police official said.
Police said the girls are living here with their father. Their mother, who is separated from their father, lives in their home country.
“We brought their mother here on a visit visa in order to discuss the matter of forcing the girls to get married back home,” a police official said.
He said the police immediately took action and talked to their father.
Police said that they had also recently helped an Arab teenager who refused to travel to her home country. She was found crying at the airport.
